Marimo, "moss balls", (Aegagropila linnaei) are a type of green algae found at the bottom of fresh water lakes and rivers. Marimos naturally form a velvet-like sphere of green with a moss-type appearance. Marimo will thrive in tap water, at room temperature in indirect sunlight. Change 25% of the water every 1-2 weeks. Roll your marimo around on occasion, under slow running tap water, to keep it’s shape.
Enjoyable plant pets; undemanding in nature and long-lived with a life span of over 100 years. They grow slowly at around 5 millimeters per year. Carla has carefully selected crystals to enhance the positive vibes the marimo generate and placed them in the acquariums.
